One of the best sources of information about diabetes is the Diabetes UK website. They have pages on many different aspects of living with diabetes, including:

If you are over 12 years old, you will be invited for regular eye screening. Eye problems caused by diabetes are called diabetic retinopathy. This can lead to sight loss if it's not found early. Our nearest diabetic eye clinic is at Crawley Hospital. You can find more information on the University Hospitals Sussex page on diabetic eye screening.
If you would like to meet other local people with diabetes, the Crawley Diabetes Group meets regularly to share their experiences and support each other. Email them on diabetesgroupcrawley@gmail.com to join.
